KMD (Kausing Much Damage- or a positive Kause in a Much Damaged society) was a Hip Hop group in the early 90s perhaps best known for launching the career of acclaimed MC/Producer MF Doom (known during his KMD tenure as Zev Love X).

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing - 2xLP: DJ Shadow could be credited with bringing newfound introspection to the sounds of hip hop. Endtroducing shutters with electric samples and aural montages that reach the constraints of hip hop style. Enhancing the mix with fundamentals of rock- soul- funk- ambient- and jazz- the modern fusions fail to go unnoticed- even by the casual listener. While most of the tracks are compiled by layering samples from vinyl treasures pulled from the basement of his favorite record store- the production quality of the mosaic is unmatched. Darkened melodies carry throughout the album. The narrative samples come from numerous sources and keep the listener involved and waiting for resolution. With a message as fragmentary as an overheard conversation- Endtroducing conveys no apparent conclusion- but begs the mind- body- and soul for some rewind.

Originally released in the US in 1998, after Endtroducing but before UNKLE, Preemptive Strike compiles much of DJ Shadow's pre- major label material in one convenient package in an attempt to bring new fans up-to-date with the curriculum. Early Mo' Wax singles "In/Flux" and "What Does Your Soul Look Like" are here in their entirety, as is the post-Endtroducing barn-burner "High Noon." Shadow reports that the collection was originally intended to be limited edition, but that the label ignored his wishes after it started selling!
