This is a solid album all the way through, but there are five tracks that really stick out as being among my favorites in Sage's catalog. First, there's "Narcissist," a scathing attack on the fashion industry, as well as those people who only get into a scene for fashion reasons. "Some kid who doesn't got any loot is buyin' my necklace along with my same exact khakis and army boots. This is blasphemous! Since Adidas tried changin' its logo there ain't nothin' been as whack as this."

Second is "Mourning Aftermath," an incredibly emotional, introspective look at sexual insecurities, and third, and perhaps Sage's most well-known song, is "Makeshift Patriot," which deals with the attacks of 9/11. "We know who the heroes are. They're not the xenophobes who act hard. We taught that dog to squat; how dare he do that shit in our own backyard?"

My other two favorite tracks are more poems than songs, though they do have a musical quality to them. "How to Write a Political Poem" is both hilarious and insightful, and surprisingly, it's more of an attack on pretentious left-wingers than conservatives. "And maybe somewhere in Florida, votes ARE still being counted. But at the end of a political poem, that just doesn't matter anymore! Because the way to end a political poem is to close your eyes and say the same line three times. The same line three times. The same! Line! Three! Times!" Finally, "Cafe Girl" tells the story of Sage meeting a girl ("She's no Natalie Portman, and I was kinda holding out for her.") in a coffee shop in a poem that's as good as anything you'll read in a literature class.

Don't get me wrong; most of the rest of the tracks are excellent as well, but those five alone make for worthwhile listening by themselves. Sometimes it seems as if Sage can do no wrong.
