Loaded Tan Tien DECK -The loaded Tan Tien is the newest edition to the Loaded lineup. It was described to me as a scaled down dervish that is easier to maneuver. I believe its called the Tan Tien because it allows the rider a greater center of balance. Tan Tien is a chinese term for the energy center of a person. This board is like a mini Dervish but with a few sweet changes. This board will feature a shorter wheelbase and standing platform making sliding that much easier as well as tight carves. Smaller shape also means lighter and easier to push and commute with. Another change is that the board will feature more functional nose and tail shapes than the Dervish. This will make locking in manuals/shovits/pivots so much easier as well as popping the board into your hand for crazy tiger claw variations. Dantian, Dan Tien or Tan t'ien literally means "cinnabar or red field" and is loosely translated as "elixir field". It is described as an important focal point for internal meditative techniques and refers specifically to the physical center of gravity located in the abdomen (about three finger widths below and two finger widths behind the navel). The dantian is important in Neidan, qigong, neigong, tao yin and other breathing techniques, as well as in traditional Chinese medicine. It is also widely used throughout East Asian meditation and martial art theories, especially the neijia school of Chinese martial arts and Tai Chi Chuan. Taoist and Buddhist teachers often instruct their students to center their mind in the dantian. This is believed to aid control of thoughts and emotions. Acting from the dantian is considered to be related to the state of samadhi.

I purchased this board 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. I started lbing on sector 9 boards. The last board before this was a sandwedge which helped push me into the lb world. Started researching and decided the tan tien was for me. The double kicks and drop through mounting make my daily commute to work easy. The bamboo saved me 200$ when a car hit me and ran over the board. Whenever I ride the board I basically don't wanna stop riding. There are so many possibilities with the board its the best decision I ever made. I strongly suggest riding the board. I also have a van guard and a pintail by loaded. Tan tien still wins my vote.

Customer Rating - 5 stars - Loaded Tan Tien DECK - Flex 1

I went from a cheap flat Krown pintail to this and OMG the difference. The sunken footing keeps your foot attached to the board when sliding. I chose flex 1 because I weigh 165 and I don't like to pogo all over the place. I went with Randall 180's and Yellow Stimulus wheels but I replaced the yellow bushings in the trucks with reds for more firmness and stability at speed. My primary interests are downhill, drifting, and sliding and this board does those well.
