Like in the mid-1970’s and mid-1980’s, all-around skateboarding is once again enjoying a renaissance. Approaches that were recently considered “alternative” – longboarding, slalom, downhill, all-purpose cruising, flatland freestyle etc. – are now mainstream.
Seismic Skate Systems is proud to be a part of that movement.
Seismic (pronounced size-mick) means: of, subject to, or caused by an earthquake or earth vibration. We chose that name because we aim to shake up the skateboard market!
Our mission is to use the most advanced materials and computer-assisted engineering technologies to radically enhance the riding experience of everyone who wants to skate, however they choose to do it – all at an affordable price. We want to broaden the technical and stylistic potentials of all skateboarders, and to make skateboards accessible as tools of transportation and self-expression to the widest possible audience.
The skateboard industry has traditionally lagged far behind other sports in its use of advanced materials and engineering strategies. Evolution in skateboard equipment has typically meant that the dimensions of decks, wheels and trucks just go up and down.
Since 1994, Seismic trucks have offered the world’s most progressive skateboard carving performance. Manufacturing in Germany made them cost-prohibitive until 2001, when streamlined production elsewhere permitted a dramatic price breakthrough. But we’re just getting started…
Seismic supports diversity, open-mindedness, and forward evolution in skateboarding. And we encourage the entire industry to appreciate the value of advanced engineering in skateboard product design.
