I started skateboarding in 1969. I was six years old. My parents gave me a wooden wheeled oak & mahogany board with pre-baseplate Chicago Trucks. My Dad took the board and painted eyes on the sides and hammered in nails for the center of the eyeballs and painted a sharks mouth on the bottom showing its teeth. That board was the coolest thing ever - no other six year old kid I knew owned the oceans most feared predator mounted on trucks & wheels. By early 1975 I had upgraded to a psycadelic green & yellow fiberglass Wayne Brown kicktail with X-Calibers and Stokers quickly followed by my dream board in 1976: A red & yellow G&S Fiberflex with Bennett Trucks and Road Rider 4's with IKS Bearings. I saved for 3 months to buy the wheels and bearings first, a month later the trucks, and finally saved enough the following month to buy the deck. While saving for the deck, I went to sleep each night staring at the ads in Skateboarder Magazine and held the Road Riders to the light where they glowed like hot coals. The memories of these skateboards and the hundreds that followed will be etched into my mind forever. Fast forward 30 years and I've had the honor of spending my entire life in the skateboard industry building products, companies, and brands that put smiles on kids faces - no matter how old they are. The Sk8ology Deck Display Concept was developed simply because I could not stand having my collection of skateboard decks collecting dust in my closet. Every time I look at one of these decks on the wall it brings me back to a great time of my life, a life spent on my skateboard. Skateboarding is art and it is our pleasure to help you showcase yours.
