Vans Skateboard shoes Hosoi Skate Hi There is a list somewhere on which is inscribed the 10 most stylish and influential skateboarders of all time, and on that list is the name Christian Hosoi. From the Tempe contest in '86 to the Beastie Boys' "Pass the Mic" video to dozens upon dozens of skate mag covers, Christian was the most famously progressive skateboarder in the world for much of the '80s.

"Holmes," as he was often called, transcended skateboarding, moving easily from vert ramp to the pool and onto the street, then into cameo film appearances and onto kids' walls all over the world. Vans has brought back Christian's legendary "Rising Sun" graphic on a legendary skate shoe, the Sk8-Hi.
